The adjustable catch basin. A self-supporting unit that sits out of sight below your drain grate, the Storm Sentinel is one of the most effective ways of preventing sediment from entering the storm water system. The oil absorbent media inside ensures that small hydrocarbons spills are captured on the way through also.
Simple to use, multi-size units that fit inside a stormwater drain to filter out silt, sediment, rubbish and other solids - along with hydrocarbons.
The Storm Sentinel units are made from an 8 oz. geotextile, which is equivalent to approximately 177 microns. This allows water to pass through easily while capturing silt, sediment and rubbish.
Within each Storm Sentinel unit is a packet of Imbiber Beads, which selectively absorb any hydrocarbons which pass through, while ignoring the water (a bit like our oil only absorbent pads).
The great thing about the Imbiber Bead technology is that they turn a bright orangey pink colour when they are contaminated with oil, giving an easy visual cue to anyone inspecting the drain.
While they only absorb up to 1L of oil each, they are great for small spills and the visual side. A larger Sump Pillow can be added to give greater absorbency if required.
Overflow ports if the main basin is full (won´t block the drain)
